Dallas police are looking for a man who tried to lure two young girls into his vehicle in Lake Highlands at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The girls, ages 6 and 9, were walking in their apartment complex in the 8100 block of Skillman Street when the man approached them. Police said he offered the girls candy to get into his car, but the girls ignored him. He then grabbed the girls, who wrestled free and ran away. Police described the suspect as a black man in his late 20s with a goatee; he was wearing black shorts and no shirt.

A man robbed a Chase Bank in the 6200 block of Greenville Avenue about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The man was wearing a stocking mask, white shirt and dark pants, police said. He fled the bank on foot. Police would not say how much money was stolen.

Two boys, ages 10 and 16, were shot at 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Lake June Road and Buckner Boulevard in Pleasant Grove. The 10-year-old remained at Children's Medical Center Dallas on Saturday with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The 16-year-old was treated and released from the hospital. Dallas police Sgt. Gil Cerda said someone in a vehicle pulled up and fired several shots at another vehicle carrying the two boys. A motive was not known, he said. The shooter was seen driving a gray 1994 four-door Dodge.

Dallas police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman who apparently was killed Saturday before the Red Bird apartment she was in was set on fire. The woman suffered blunt force trauma, said Sgt. Gil Cerda, a police spokesman. Her 34-year-old sister-in-law was arrested in the killing, he said. Neither woman was identified pending notification of their families. Dallas firefighters found the woman's body in the apartment about 11:30 a.m. when they arrived in the 7000 block of Camp Wisdom Road.

A 22-year-old South Dallas woman died Saturday from gunshot wounds suffered Friday afternoon in what police called a gang-related shooting. At 1:50 p.m. Friday, a man shot Ericka Bingmon in the breezeway of her apartment in the 3700 block of Dixon Avenue, near Second Avenue South and Scyene Road. She died Saturday morning at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. Dallas police Sgt. Gil Cerda said investigators were looking for a person of interest but would not release his name or description until he's in custody.
