The event, which features food, music and carnival rides, runs through Sunday at the church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield."Everyone is welcome to attend our Summerfest, regardless of where they live or worship," said Brian Lyons, an event coordinator."Our goal is to get people together so they can make new friendships."Bands featured at the event include Powerfault, Mercury, X drive (plays music from the 1960s, '70s and '80s) and Scott Dickson and the Western Son Band.The beer garden will feature other musical acts.Food will include international fare in addition to the traditional pork chops and baked potato dinners, which are available every night from 5 to 7:30 p.m.Hot-air balloon rides will be offered Friday and Saturday nights, and fireworks will be part of each night's celebrations.Saturday is Fortville Auto Salvage/ExactTarget family day, featuring a 5K walk/run fundraiser to benefit The Boys and Girls Club and The Hancock County Hospital Foundation.This day also features area cloggers and cheer teams.Wristbands for unlimited rides on the midway can be purchased for $12.A Texas Hold'em tourney starts at 6 p.m. Saturday.St. Michael's Summerfest will be from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday.For more information, call the church at (317) 462-4240.
