WRIGHT TWP.: Ashley Rose Cunningham, a Senior Girl Scout with Troop 3314, is working on her Gold Award project. The Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting and symbolizes outstanding accomplishments and a significant amount of time invested in career planning, community service, leadership and personal development.
For her project, Cunningham is holding a girls fastpitch softball clinic in the gymnasium at Crestwood High School, 281 S. Mountain Blvd., on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for girls in third- through sixth-grades. Additionally, she is seeking donations of new and gently used softball equipment such as balls, bats, gloves, helmets, pants and more as well as cash donations.
Cunningham, 17, is a senior at Crestwood High School and the daughter of Michael A. and Donna Rose Cunningham. She joined Girl Scouting as a Daisy Scout in 1994. In addition to Girl Scouting, she is a Young Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, chorus, chemistry club, Spanish club, Crestwood girls varsity softball team and Duke's Diamond 18-U fastpitch softball team.
