Mount Sophia Academy has about 115 students this year. Every Monday these home-schoolers meet at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church in Newark for classes. The instruction offered depends on student interest and teacher availability. Current classes include acting and directing, Spanish, French and a literature-based writing course. Other activities sponsored by Mount Sophia include a Christmas Holly Hop dance, a prom and a National Honor Society.
