Soccer Coaches Association rankings, will play in The Brittany Willis Memorial Scholarship Soccer Showcase starting today and continuing Saturday at the Gillette Soccer Complex in Wilson.

Among the ranked 4-A teams are Leesville Road (4), East Chapel Hill (5), Southern Pines Pinecrest (8), Broughton (11) and Southeast Raleigh (15).

KNIGHTDALE TOURNAMENT: The Leith AutoPark East Round Table Classic for baseball and softball is scheduled for Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at Knightdale High.

The baseball openers on Saturday are Enloe vs. Panther Creek (10 a.m.), Hope Mills South View vs. Southeast Raleigh (1 p.m.), Holly Springs vs. Sanderson (4 p.m.) and Durham Arts vs. Knightdale (7 p.m.).

In girls fast-pitch softball, it's Leesville Road vs. Panther Creek (10 a.m.), Sanderson vs. Southeast Raleigh (1 p.m.), Winston-Salem Parkland vs. Broughton (4 p.m.) and Durham Arts vs. Knightdale (7 p.m.).

Saturday is ALS Awareness Day at the tournament. Members of the Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter of ALS Association will be on site to provide literature.

Hunter, of Hertford, a Hall of Fame pitcher for the New York Yankees, died in 1999. He and the late Keith LeClair, a former East Carolina baseball coach, had ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

CHARTER ROLLS: Camille Morgan scored four goals and added three assists Thursday night in Raleigh Charter's 7-0 girls soccer win over Pittsboro Northwood.

PERFECT COMBINATION: Princeton's April Keene and Maegan Myers combined to throw a perfect five-inning fast-pitch softball game in an 11-0 win over Spring Creek.

CAPS REBOUND: Broughton avenged an early season Cap Seven 4-A loss to Enloe with a 4-0 girls soccer win. Katie Evans had a goal and two assists.

ONE-HITTERS: Garner's Cecily Parrott and Clayton's Sarah Jackson tossed one-hit shutouts in fast-pitch Greater Neuse 4-A softball games on Thursday.
