The Grill toasts the Granite Hills girls soccer team and the Colony boys and Diamond Ranch girls basketball teams for winning their schools' first CIF titles.

Thumbs up also to Fontana High School's Gabby Smith and Chandra Mogan, who have made verbal commitments to play softball at Cal State Fullerton and Tennessee, respectively. Mogan is only a junior.

Bjorn Borg is auctioning off his five Wimbledon championship trophies as a package, which is expected to net perhaps half a million dollars. Which prompts the question who would want somebody else's athletic trophies?

The cowboy shirts worn by the protagonists of "Brokeback Mountain'' sold for about what Borg will get for his tennis cups. Seems pricey, but at least you can wear a cowboy shirt.

The sports show "Anything to Win'' did an examination of Rosie Ruiz, the woman who crashed the 1980 Boston Marathon, masquerading as the victor. Rosie still says she ran. Problem is, the videotape shows her with no perspiration on her underarms and with a gait like a back-of-the-packer.
