The 18-year-old son of Denton County District Attorney Bruce Isaacks remained in jail Friday on an assault charge after police said he pushed a store clerk while trying to steal beer and wine.
Adam Isaacks was arrested May 24 by Carrollton police on charges of assault with bodily injury and was being held in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in Dallas in lieu of $500 bail. It's the third time in 15 months that Adam Isaacks, whose mother is a district judge, has faced criminal charges.
According to police, Adam Isaacks was identified by a convenience store clerk in a police lineup as the man who entered the S&T Beer and Wine store in the 2200 block of Marsh Lane on May 20 and stole an 18-pack of beer and a bottle of wine.
Police said he then shoved the clerk to the ground when the clerk chased him outside, causing the clerk to suffer cuts and abrasions on his hands, forearms and knees.
Bruce Isaacks recused himself and his staff from the case, and a visiting judge appointed former Grayson County prosecutor Bob Jarvis to the case.
Adam Isaacks also was arrested in March of this year after being accused of firing a shotgun in the back yard of his Carrollton home. According to the arrest warrant in that case, he admitted shooting at a tree while teaching a friend how to fire the 12-gauge shotgun.
Computer records showed neither case had been filed with the Denton County court system as of Friday, said Lee Ann Breading, spokeswoman for the Denton County district attorney's office.
